John was a great friend to have around. Always a positive attitude. I still have images of him coming down through waist deep powder in Alta, UT on his x-c skis. Incredible ski handling skills. He will be missed by all of us who were on the US Team during those years with him.

John was a big part of our family in the 70s as both sons: Kurt and Chase were a part of his Middleburt Ski Team that John coached. He, also, was very supportive of my coaching of the Gunstock Nordic Assn teams in the Bill Koch League and on becoming the first woman FIS Jump Judge in 1984..
So sorry to hear of his passing.

John Bower was a great mentor and a good friend during my time with the US team. My condolences to Bonnie.

Thanks to Tom Kelly for the write up.
